Built for one piece. Drawn for one person.
What we make
We take commissions for pieces meant to mark something. A wedding, a retirement, a milestone year, a name on a door for the first time. Most of what we build falls into four categories:
Heirloom strategy boards. Custom hardwood game boards. Monopoly, chess, backgammon, or one we draw together. Personalized property layouts, family names, hometown streets. Twenty-three inches across. Built to be the centerpiece of a room.
Engraved plaques and crests. Service awards, retirement recognitions, end-of-watch tributes, unit and family crests. Hand inlaid in solid hardwood with the names, dates, and emblems that matter.
Wall and home pieces. Topographic maps, hand-engraved clocks, butcher blocks, commemorative wall art. Pieces meant to live in the home for a long time.
One-offs. Commissions that don't fit a category yet. A chess board with the streets of your hometown for the squares, a sign for the front of a building, a memorial piece with someone's handwriting carved into the grain. If you have an idea, we'll tell you whether we can build it.
How a commission works
01 The conversation
Tell us what you're commissioning and who it's for. Send any images, words, or references that matter. We'll come back with questions and a price.
02 The proof
Once you've approved the quote, we draw the piece. Every dimension, every word, every engraving, and send it to you for sign-off. Nothing is cut until you've signed off on the proof.
03 The build
Once approved, we begin the build. Most commissions take three to four weeks from approved proof to finished piece. We'll send progress photos along the way.
04 The delivery
Each piece is finished, photographed, signed, and packed by hand. We coordinate delivery to your door, anywhere in the continental United States.
Lead times and what they cost
Most commissioned pieces start in the $400–$1,200 range, depending on the wood, the size, and the complexity of the engraving or inlay. Larger commissions and one-of-a-kind builds go up from there.
Standard lead time is three to four weeks from approved proof. Rush commissions are possible when the bench allows. Ask.
